Dr. Black is board certified in Ophthalmology. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Following his residency at the University of North Carolina, Dr. Black completed a 2 year American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital and Kresge Eye Institute.
Dr. Black is Director of the Ophthalmic Plastic and Orbital Surgery service at Kresge Eye Institute and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is a nationally published textbook and journal article author, and has lectured nationally and internationally on ophthalmic and facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Black specializes in all areas of reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid and facial surgery as well as tear duct surgery and orbital surgery. He uses the most advanced laser and endoscopic techniques available.
